Batch Distillation - Simulation And Optimization

BDIST-SimOpt is a software package for the simulation and optimization of multicomponent, multifraction batch distillation columns.

BDIST-SimOpt determines the key operating conditions to maximize the net profit based on the value of the distillate from each fraction and the column operating cost. This is accomplished by varying the reflux ratio and duration of each fraction to meet one or more purity specification.

BDIST-SimOpt includes a rigorous model for design verification and column performance prediction. The rigorous model is comprehensive and simulates the detailed column dynamics.

The Activity++ package is used for calculating the physical properties. The database contains more than 1700 compounds and provides a variety of equation of state or activity coefficient based models.
